Cambridge United are welcoming refugees from Ukraine to tomorrow's game against Wycombe Wanderers as part of the Club's Football Welcomes Matchday...
Free tickets have been given out to a group of refugees from Ukraine, who have fled the country following the Russian invasion. Local volunteer group, Cambridge4Ukraine has helped organise the visit, whom we thank for their cooperation and support.
April 2024 is Amnesty International UK’s Football Welcomes month, where football unites to celebrate how clubs are fostering a welcoming community for reufees.
Their focus is on utilizing football as a catalyst for positive social change, fostering inclusive communities for refugees and people seeking asylum.
U's players will also wear Football Welcomes t-shirts during their warm-ups, to help spread the message of the Club's welcoming stance towards refugees around the world.
