MICK GEORGE WELCOME GLENNFIELD CARE TO TURNER MATCH

Mick George Ltd welcomes Glennfield Care Centre at Memorial Match


Tomorrow will certainly be a day of mixed emotions as Peterborough United and Cambridge United meet for the first time since the 2001/2002 season, and with that the inevitable excitement is building. However, the purpose of the day remains at the forefront of both clubs with all keen to deliver a fitting tribute to a true professional and club icon.  

All proceeds from the Memorial Match are being donated to Glennfield Care Centre who looked after Chris for many years. In recognition of the tremendous efforts of the hospice, sponsor of both clubs Mick George Ltd are thrilled to welcome their counterparts as guests to the match.

Jude Reeve, General Manager of Glennfield Care Centre stated: ‘’the staff at Glennfield are overwhelmed by the offer from Peterborough United and Cambridge United Football Clubs to give the proceeds of the Chris Turner Memorial Match to our ‘Comforts fund’.  The money will be used to enhance the lives of residents who use our service’’.

Reeve continued ‘‘being part of Chris Turner’s life was an experience that all of us felt was very special and we miss him dearly.  The whole day will be a time to reflect on all the good times we had with him and his wife Lynn’’.

Reeve, extended her gratitude for the opportunity stating ‘’on behalf of all at Glennfield Care Centre, I would like to thank Mick George Ltd for their generous offer to attend the Memorial Match in the Hospitality Suite. We are all looking forward to it and I’m sure we will enjoy the occasion’’.

Mick George Ltd are supporting the charity through sponsorship of the event. In addition, mascot ‘Mick the Skip’ and the half time ‘chip in the skip’ challenge that is now synonymous with match day will also be present.
