Cambridge United has officially welcomed its newest and youngest Academy intake, as this year's Under 9s signed up with the Club…
T Smith, A Stocks, M Sudi, J Harrison, J Flower, I Ansari, M Ebanks-Blake, T Edwards, L Swann, M Buckson and J Tanlaka have all been awarded Academy registrations to officially begin their Cambridge United journey.
"I am really pleased to welcome our new intake of U9s for the 2024/25 season," Foundation Phase & Pre-Academy Lead James Nicholas said.
"This is a really exciting time in the season for the players and their families as they embark on their academy journey at Cambridge United Football Club.
"The boys should be immensely proud of their achievements to date and look forward to all the opportunities and experiences that the academy programme will offer each of them. This season has seen the group play in our varied pre-academy games programme and we are thrilled that they will continue their football development with CUFC.
"I would like to take this chance to thank the local grassroots teams and private academies who have helped these players progress and we look forward to continuing their good work. I would also like to show appreciation to our fantastic staff members who have gone above and beyond consistently in supporting these individuals. Thank you to Jake Hammond, Sam Skinner, Glenn Sullivan and Steve Holmes."
Their recent signing day saw the boys play a fixture against Football Development Schools, in association with Aston Villa, on the Cledara Abbey Stadium pitch, receive a welcome talk from the Academy coaching team and have their photos taken in the Club's Board Room.
