Cambridge United are delighted to welcome Jack Cassidy to the Academy as Senior PDP Coach & Pathways Manager...

Jack takes over from the recently departed Pete Gill to manage the Club's Academy players that are in transition from the Academy environment into the First Team and Senior Men's football.

“I am delighted to be joining Cambridge United Football Club in the role of Senior PDP & Pathway Manager, Jack Cassidy said. "To be given the opportunity to help support the clubs talented young players throughout their journey, whilst working with so many exceptional coaches, is a challenge I am really looking forward to.

"The Academy has a fantastic reputation and I can't wait to play my part in pushing the team on even further."

Academy Manager, Dom Knighton added, “We are really excited to welcome Jack to Cambridge United and believe he will be an excellent addition to our Academy coaching team.

"Having excelled within a thorough interview process we are confident that Jack can continue to drive the programme for our young professionals and fully support their transition into the senior game through his passion and enthusiasm for developing young players and working with individuals.

"A large part of that transition will be aided by our loan strategy which will see a number of our young players heading out on loan as they continue to gain vital experience of the senior game.

"We continuously strive to increase the productivity of Academy graduates within our first team and it is a collective responsibility to ensure that when a player is given an opportunity, they are fully prepared to grasp their chance.

"Our players individual developmental journeys will all be varied but one thing that they will all have in common is that they will be non-linear, and they will face plenty of adversity along the way.

"We place a great emphasis on building strong relationships to support each individual’s journey and we are looking forward to seeing the impact Jack has within this area."
