The Diabetes Football Community...

Cambridge United are dedicating this Saturday’s match to The Diabetes Football Community (TDFC), a not-for-profit organisation breaking down barriers for those living with type 1 diabetes.

TDFC empowers players and fans alike, demonstrating that diabetes doesn’t have to prevent anyone from enjoying the beautiful game.

Before the match, both squads of players will warm-up in special warm-up t-shirts featuring visual representations of key diabetes management devices – including a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) and an insulin pump - to promote awareness of how individuals living with diabetes adapt to and succeed in sport.

Volunteers from The Diabetes Football Community will also be fundraising around the ground, so please keep an eye out and help out if you can.

Homeless Football Tournament Medals...

On Saturday we are pleased to invite players and organisers of the Tommy McLafferty Cup - a football tournament for homeless people that took place back in September - to the Cledara Abbey Stadium.

Jointly organised by the Rotary Club of Cambridge South, Wintercomfort, It Takes A City, Jimmy’s and Cambridge Cyrenians, the annual tournament involved homeless people and volunteers connected with organisations working within the homeless sector in and around Cambridge.

Players from the tournament will take to the pitch at half-time to receive medals for their participation, in-front of the home crowd.

Mascots and Ball Crew...

On Saturday we welcome Louis Clayden, Ned Clayden, Callum Jarvis, Jake Jarvis, Harry Norton, March Peel, Isabel Pettit and Joshua Pettit as our Mascots for the day!

We are also pleased to have AFC Balsham U9s as our Matchday Experience team, and Sutton and Mepal U12 boys as our Ball Crew for the afternoon.

Click here for more information on our Matchday Mascot packages.

Abbey Helpers...

If you have any questions or queries on the day of the game, please speak to our Abbey Helpers who are wearing high-viz jacket and will be located around the ground.
