Development Players Update

With the 2023/24 season shortly concluding, end-of-season meetings have been held with the Club's development players...

A number of young professionals and Under 18s will leave the Club in the summer, which means the end of some long associations with the Football Club.

Departing young pro's, Greg Sandiford, Harvey Beckett, Kai Yearn, Saleem Akanbi and Tom Finch have all been with Cambridge United since Under 9s.

Dan Carey Evans, Pat Staszewski, Mo Habib, Liam Chadwick, George Scales and Ronan Ismaili will also leave the Club at the end of their scholarship.

Extensions/options have been offered/activated to Glenn McConnell, Louis Chadwick, Brandon Njoku, Dan Barton and Amaru Kaunda, whilst Reece Hipwell has been offered a third year scholarship.

Professionals

  • George Hoddle remains under contract
  • Glenn McConnell offered a contract extension
  • Options to be activated on Louis Chadwick, Brandon Njoku and Dan Barton
  • Players to leave the club at the end of their contract in the Summer: Tom Finch, Greg Sandiford, Harvey Beckett, Kai Yearn, Saleem Akanbi

U18s

  • Amaru Kaunda offered a professional contract
  • Players to leave the club at the end of their scholarship in the Summer: Dan Carey Evans, Pat Staszewski, Mo Habib, Liam Chadwick, George Scales, Ronan Ismaili
  • Reece Hipwell offered a third year scholarship
