Cambridge United Supporters Club members vote in favour to allow the Abbey Stadium redevelopment plans to move to the next stage…
At tonight’s Supporters Club EGM, members voted unanimously to back the proposal for the Club to build a new Supporters Club building at the front of their land, in-turn gifting the footprint of the existing building to the Football Club, to pave way for development of the Abbey Stadium.
CEO Alex Tunbridge stated, "We are pleased that the Supporters Club approved the proposed deal tonight at their EGM. We will now start working hard in partnership on the next stages of the process and hope to be in a position to make public our initial plans for the Abbey Stadium site in the early New Year."
Chair of the Supporters Club, Paul Mayes commented, "We are pleased that the vote was unanimous in favour of moving forward with this exciting development, of a new Supporters Club and the stadium development. We thank everyone for their support and we look forward to be able to release more details as we move forward."
