Cambridge United has been ranked 4th in the 2021/22 Fan Engagement Index, which measures the engagement levels of all 92 Clubs in the top five tiers of English Football...
Each Club is assessed on their dialogue with supporters, how supporters are represented as part of the Club's governance and how transparent the Club is with their supporters.
It's the third season in a row that United have finished in the top 5, after a ranking of 3rd in 2019/20 and 2nd in 2020/21. In each season, the U's have been given a score of 175.
CEO Alex Tunbridge said, "We are pleased to once again be ranked near the top of the Fan Engagement Index. It's a testament to the culture of the Club and our desire to work with, engage with and strength the voice of our fans.
"Our actions demonstrate this - such as the recent formation of the Club's Shadow Board, which isn't taken into account in these results - so it's pleasing to see our approach recognised.
"It is also worth highlighting the brilliant support we receive from our fans and their desire to be informed and heard. We know there is still plenty more that we can improve and we endeavour to do so."
Kevin Rye, Think Fan Engagement owner added, "People are competitive and want to do well in the table by scoring as highly as possible, but consistency is important too.
"Does the Club dedicate time and resources to listening to and engaging with fans? Does the leadership value it? Does it impact their decisions? I know that to be true at Cambridge United, who are becoming one of the standout exponents of fan engagement."
