Cambridge United are delighted to announce that Louis Chadwick has signed his first professional contract with the Club…
The 19-year-old goalkeeper joins Miles Cowling as the second Academy player this summer to sign pro terms following a successful season within the St Neots development programme.
“I am delighted,” Chadwick said. “It’s a very proud moment for me and my family.
“It’s now about trying to push onto that next level and to keep gaining experiences that will serve me well for the future.”
Academy Manager Dom Knighton said, “Louis has progressed through our Academy and completed his scholarship before spending last season within our St Neots Town development programme partnership. For any player to get to this point in his journey is a proud moment for the player, his family and also the Academy.
“Louis is an athletic goalkeeper and possesses excellent distribution both off the floor and out of his hands.
“Like our other young professionals, Louis has got a big season ahead of him as he continues to strive to get to the next level of his development. With this is mind, Louis could spend time on loan at the highest possible level as it is important for him to play as many games as possible to keep progressing.”
Chadwick joins Myles Cowling, Kai Yearn, Saleem Akanbi and Glenn McConnell to become the fifth United Academy graduate to sign a professional deal this summer.
