Cambridge United is delighted to announce that Martin Davies has rejoined the club as Goalkeeper Coach...
Davies was previously with the U’s between 2009-2017, where he worked at every level of the club’s football operation. After starting out with the Youth Development scheme, Davies joined the Academy before working for the First Team as Head of Goalkeeping.
Davies joined Swansea City in 2017 to become the club’s Head of Academy Goalkeeping and now rejoins United following the departure of Mark Bunn.
Head Coach Mark Bonner said, “Martin rejoins us after almost five years away and is tasked with continuing the good work that Mark Bunn has carried out with the goalkeepers. He becomes a key member of the coaching team to assist not only the goalkeepers, but the whole squad in-order to help best prepare the team for the challenges we face this season and beyond.
“On top of that, his diligent approach and coaching experience will allow the goalkeepers to continue developing and improving. Martin will adjust to life at Cambridge quickly and has the character to help us continue building the culture we want to be deeply embedded in the club. He returns, better and more experienced having worked with some excellent mentors and gained a host of positive learning experiences whilst he's been away.”
Davies - a UEFA A License Goalkeeping Coach – also served as a Cambridge United player between 1995-1996.
