Lee Fraser has joined Cambridge United as consultant Finance Director replacing Duncan Foyle in the role...
Speaking on behalf of the Board Chairman Shaun Grady said, "I would like to place on record the gratitude of everyone at the Club for the outstanding work that Duncan Foyle has done over recent years. It is no exaggeration to say that thanks to Duncan’s leadership the Club has significantly improved its financial systems from top to bottom and established a strong Finance Team.
"The Club is in a much stronger position as a result. We are particularly grateful for the considerable commitment Duncan made to the Club helping steer us through the many challenges caused by the pandemic. Duncan has now moved out of the area with his family and felt that it was the appropriate time to step aside now strong systems and processes are in place for the future. Duncan leaves with our thanks and will always be welcome back at the Abbey.
"We are very pleased to have found someone of Lee’s calibre to succeed Duncan. He has already shown in the short time he has been working with us that he will make a very valuable contribution to the Club. Everyone recognises that the financial challenges in the football league are considerable. We are committed to running the Club in the most sustainable way possible consistent with being competitive at the new level we are at.
"The Club is fortunate to have the financial backing of Paul, Mark and Adam and Lee’s oversight of the financial side of the Club will clearly be an important part of our future."
