Cambridge United first team skipper Gary Deegan and goalkeeper David Forde were on hand to Club partners 8build, as they began construction on their first Cambridge project win.
8build, a Main Contractor specialising in fitout, refurbishment and new build projects have recently opened a Cambridge office just a stone's throw from the Abbey Stadium after a successful 2018 saw them win a number of exciting local projects.
Founded over 13 years ago, the original eight founders had a common goal to grow the business with people that shared their vision and values.
Thanks, in part to raising their profile through sponsoring the Club's Executive Lounge and introductions to other local businesses through Cambridge United, 8build is starting to make an impact locally here in Cambridge.
Last week Deegan and Forde were present to chat to 8build staff, take a tour of the site on Chesterton Road and sign autographs – and perhaps a little unsurprisingly the U's Club Captain even lent a hand with the demolition work!
Divisional Director at 8build, Ian Woollison said: "Cambridge United welcomed 8build with open arms last year. The Club has been very supportive in introducing us to local businesses and we’ve created some great working relationships as a result. Last week was a great example of the Club’s involvement and it was a pleasure to share such a milestone moment with Gary and David. Here’s to hoping 8build and the Club continue to share successes both on and off the field in 2019!”
Head of Partnerships at Cambridge United, Nick Fairbairn: “It’s been a pleasure to work with 8build over the last season and a half and it was brilliant for us all to see their first Cambridge project taking shape. It’s great that we’ve been able to make business introductions that have helped 8build make their mark locally and we’re looking forward to continuing our strong relationship with Ian and his team in the future.”
