Cambridge United are supporting Cambridge city foodbank, to help local people who are in hardship this winter. The Football Club will have a foodbank available on match days for fans to donate items of food which can then be shared in the wider local community.
Although Cambridge is a City of innovation and wealth, costs are high and there are thousands of people in hardship, sometimes having to choose between food and heat. The supporters of Cambridge United Football Club understand the importance of teamwork and supporting each other.
Club SLO and Fans Elected Director, Dave Matthew-Jones said: “We are really proud to be associated with Cambridge City Foodbank. This is a time of year where, for many, the pressures of trying to provide for themselves and their families can prove really difficult. We would encourage everyone who can help to do so. Even a small amount can mean a lot and make a difference.”
Fans can make donations to the Cambridge United foodbank on a match day, by bringing their donations to the CFU Van on the front car park. Some of the items which Cambridge City food bank suggest, can be donated are as follows.
