Eleven teams of girls from seven local secondary schools took part in the U’s club stage of EFL Girls Cup, with the winner earning a place as Cambridge United’s representatives at the area finals.
Parkside Community College overcame St Ivo School in a dramatic final, which required a penalty shoot-out to separate the sides and decide the winners of the tournament.
Parkside will now be the U’s representatives in the 2018/19 EFL Girls Cup, with the next phase of the competition seeing them take on the representatives from the likes of Luton Town, Norwich City and Ipswich Town. The area finals will be hosted by Cambridge United at Newmarket Town’s stadium in early January.
The EFL Girls Cup concludes with a showpiece final taking place at Wembley Stadium!
Schools that competed in this week’s Club Finals were:

A huge thank you to Bottisham Village College for the use of their 3G facilities and all those who competed on the day.
