BARRY CORR STAYS!

Cambridge United can confirm that striker Barry Corr has penned a contract with the Club, extending his time with the U’s until the end of the 2017/18 Sky Bet League Two season.

Following a challenging 18 month period with injuries, Corr re-joined United on a three week non contract basis last month.

Having continued to work closely with Cambridge United's first team medical staff following his release last summer, the Club have been undertaking a review of the Irishman's fitness and ability to handle the workload of first team training.

The 32-year old featured as a substitute in three Sky Bet League Two fixtures during January, and subsequently a contracted opportunity for Corr to continue working towards full match fitness at the Abbey Stadium for the remainder of the campaign was tabled.

The striker, who previously registered 14 goals in 29 games during his first spell with the Club, has now put pen to paper and will be available for all of the U’s remaining games until the close of the season.

Delighted to have extended his time with the Club, Corr commented: “I’m really happy to be back at the Club and pleased to be given the opportunity for the rest of the season.

“I’m looking forward to continuing my time here and hoping that I can contribute towards helping the team move upwards between now and May.”

The Football Club will be making a further announcement regarding the future investment from Paul Barry on Friday morning.
