CAMBRIDGE UNITED’S JEVANI BROWN IS ENJOYING HIS FIRST CRACK AT THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE WITH THE U’S AND FEELS HE WILL GROW IN CONFIDENCE WITH EVERY GAME.

Having shone in a reserves fixture against Cambridgeshire rivals Peterborough United last week, Brown was given the nod by Head Coach Shaun Derry to make his first appearance in the EFL and took the opportunity with both hands.

Commenting on his promising display, he said: “I thought it was good and really enjoyed it. I mean a goal would have been better to top it off!

“I’m pleased that the gaffer (Shaun Derry) has seen me in training and he has picked me out a few times and given me that reassurance that I’m progressing well. I was told that my opportunity would come and now I just want to do all I can to take it.

“The transition into professional football has been brilliant. Having played when I was younger and then had a few years out of it, you do miss that feeling of getting up and remembering that you have training every day.

“This Club has given me a great chance to showcase what I can do, and hopefully we can do the job this season as a team.”
