MATCH PREVIEW | COLCHESTER UNITED – HOME

Cambridge United entertain local rivals Colchester United at the Cambs Glass Stadium on Saturday, with just four points separating the sides in Sky Bet League Two.

Shaun Derry’s men saw their three game unbeaten run come to an end at the hands of table toppers Doncaster Rovers earlier in the week, but pushed the South Yorkshire side close with late goals from George Maris and Luke Berry almost sparking a comeback for the U’s.

United have lost just one of their last four, and a win over their Essex opponents this weekend would move them to within one point of John McGreal’s side.

Barry Corr faces a late fitness assessment ahead of the match, however Greg Taylor and Medy Elito have both played significant minutes in the last week as they return from injury.

Meanwhile, Colchester will arrive at the Cambs Glass Stadium two points outside the play-off positions, as they look to piece together a return to Sky Bet League One at the first time of asking.

John McGreal's men are searching for a return to winning ways after falling to a defeat at the hands of fellow play-off hopefuls Grimsby Town on Tuesday night. In fact the Essex outfit are searching for their first win on the road since December, but have beaten Wycombe and Carlisle United in recent weeks.

Colchester took the spoils in the reverse fixture at the Weston Holmes Community Stadium back in August, but it’s the U’s of Cambridge that lead the head-to-head record with 19 wins to 17.

Tickets for the game are still available online and by calling 01223 566 500, with supporters able to save £2 when purchasing ahead of match day.
