CAMBRIDGE UNITED CENTRE BACK MARK ROBERTS IS DETERMINED FOR THE U’S TO CONTINUE THEIR UNBLEMISHED RECORD IN THE CHECKATRADE TROPHY TONIGHT.
The U’s have already guaranteed themselves a place in the next round following their wins over League One Shrewsbury Town and Middlesbrough U23s last month, but Roberts feels there is a real focus on completing an impeccable run through the group stage against the Iron this evening.
He said: “The game against Scunthorpe is one we certainly want to win because the Checkatrade Trophy is a competition that we are all keen to go as far as possible in.
“We have managed to put together two wins so far against Shrewsbury and Middlesbrough. More importantly winning in any competition breeds confidence for further wins.
“So we have made sure that we prepare properly for this game, and a win would kick us on nicely going back into the League on Saturday against Crawley.”
