MATCH PREVIEW: YEOVIL TOWN

Ticket: Online and in-store

Cambridge United welcome in-form Yeovil Town to the Abbey Stadium this weekend for an exciting Sky Bet League Two clash (K.O. 3:00pm).

The U’s earned an excellent point last time out away at league leaders Northampton Town after a stunning late strike from Jimmy Spencer sent the traveling fans into raptures.

United will be looking to do the double over the Somerset side after a 3-2 victory clinched the three points at Huish Park in October.

Shaun Derry’s men will continue to be without long-term absentees Barry Corr and Greg Taylor, while Conor Newton continues to struggle with his back injury. Ryan Donaldson (knee) and Keith Keane (feet) will also miss out again due to their respective injury woes.

Darren Way has overseen a revival since taking the reins of the Glovers and they travel to CB5 as arguably one of the in-form sides in the division having only tasted defeat once in the last ten games.

If previous meetings are anything to go by, then United fans should expect goals this weekend as 27 goals have been scored between the sides in only six fixtures. Yeovil lead the head-to-head standings with five wins to one and the U’s will be looking to rectify this starting on Saturday.

Shaun Derry is wary of the threat of the travelling side and said: “One defeat in ten games suggests we are up against one of the in-form teams in the league.

“Darren has done an excellent job there and completely changed all of the fortunes of Yeovil Town. He is one of their people and I know what the club means to him so it is going to be difficult for us on Saturday.”

“The crowd will know that we have a really tough opponent coming to the Abbey Stadium on Saturday.

“It is a rallying cry this weekend that we need as many fans heading down to the Abbey and getting behind us.”
