CAMBRIDGE UNITED VOW TO SUPPORT SHAUN WHITER AND JOEY ABBS
Cambridge United are deeply saddened to hear of the recent incident involving two local footballers Shaun Whiter and Joey Abbs.
Both players are part of the Cambridge football family and Cambridge United are committed to helping support Shaun, Joey and their families now and in the coming months. The club will organise and host a game to raise money, will aid Shaun and Joey with their respective rehabilitation and be there for them and their families in every way possible. We will, at an appropriate time under the guidance of Shaun and Joey’s families, make a further announcement about the game and how U's supporters can offer their support.
CEO Jez George has been in contact with both players' relatives and will continue to consult both families as we stand shoulder to shoulder with Shaun and Joey following this dreadful event. Jez commented: "Shaun and Joey are both very much part of the football family in our area and at times like this it is important that the football family pulls together in support of their own. The club will therefore endeavour to do all we can to support them both.”
