Cambridge United Merchandise now available Sidney Street Store
Cambridge United announce a new partnership with Hobbs Intersport which will see official club merchandise available to purchase in the city centre store on Sidney Street.
This exciting new development allows the heavy footfall in Cambridge city centre to view and purchase the club’s latest retail items, therefore marking an opportunity to expand the U’s retail operation and in the long-term potentially grow the club’s fan base by attracting a different demographic of supporter.
Meanwhile, it also offers current Cambridge United supporters another outlet in which to buy the club’s home and away replica shirts, scarves and hats, in addition to the official Club Shop at the Abbey Stadium on Newmarket Road and online store www.cufcdirect.com.
Cambridge United merchandise will be stocked in the sporting goods store from Monday, with U’s first team stars Luke Berry and Ryan Donaldson also set to make an appearance and launch the new partnership with a special signing and photograph session on Thursday at 3pm.
Liz Slack, Business Operations Manager, commented on the new deal: “We’re delighted to start this partnership with Hobbs Sports as the club looks to expand its retail operations.
“We recognise that this is an important revenue stream, and having our merchandise on sale in the town centre gives us access to tourists visiting the city, while also making it easier for our own supporters to buy their kit.”
Meanwhile Tim Shattock of Jarrold, trading as Hobbs Sports added: “Hobbs Sports is proud to announce an official partnership with Cambridge United Football Club. As the independent sports business in Cambridge, Hobbs Sports will become the exclusive city centre stocklists of Cambridge United Football Club merchandise.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for the business to support with a key club in the local sporting community.
“The club merchandise will take pride of place in our recently refurbished store in Sidney Street and will provide a great opportunity for local and visiting shoppers alike.”
