MATCH PREVIEW: YEOVIL VS CAMBRIDGE UTD

Huish Park, Kick Off 3pm

The U’s play their second fixture in the West County this week, with a Sky Bet League Two clash against Yeovil Town at Huish Park at 3pm today.

Richard Money’s men will be looking to bounce back quickly from Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat to Exeter City, and complete a busy week by taking six points from a possible nine available.

Josh Coulson, Keith Keane, Chris Dunn and Leon Legge remain on the sidelines as they continue their recovery from injury with their respective injuries. Captain Mark Roberts will serve the final game of his suspension against Yeovil, which gives George Taft and Alie Sesay another opportunity to continue their partnership after recent performances against the Grecians and Northampton.

Meanwhile, today’s opponents Yeovil Town have struggled of late and have not won in their last six games and only once in 10 of their previous Sky Bet League Two fixtures. However, results are sure to make the Glovers hungry this afternoon against the U’s, and the hosts possess a dangerous armory of attacking players capable of causing United defensive issues.

The travelling Amber Army will need no introduction to ex-United striker Ryan Bird who has scored five goals so far this season for the Somerset side.

Today’s fixture marks the first occasion the two sides have met since 2005 and the U’s will be keen to secure their first ever point against Yeovil.

Manager Richard Money commented: “When you look at Yeovil’s results, although they are not in good place in the table, they are fiercely competitive in every game that they play.

“They have come back from behind to secure results at home twice this season against Dagenham and Luton, so that shows exactly how competitive they are. I’m sure they will fight for every minute in the match.

“At the end of the day every team can only work with what they have, and Yeovil look to be working extremely hard to get everything they can out of what they have got.”

He added: “There was nothing wrong with the effort or the attitude in which we approached the game on Wednesday at Exeter, we just need to find a bit more quality at the right time.

“Since then, on Thursday we worked in the pool to recover whilst those who didn’t play worked a bit harder in the gym and we have also given them some time together so they had a walk around Exeter. Yesterday we had a very bright training session so we are ready for the game today.”
