UNITED CONFIRM LEDSON LOAN DEAL

Cambridge United complete loan signing of Everton’s Ryan Ledson

Cambridge United have moved to bolster their midfield options with the loan signing of exciting Everton youngster Ryan Ledson until 3rd January.

The 18 year old, who is a product of the Toffees’ Academy system having joined the Premier League side at the age of five, is the U’s third loan signing this week following the announcements of Terry Kennedy and Ben Williamson yesterday afternoon.

Ledson has represented internationally for England at Under 16s and Under 18s level, as well as captaining England's Under 17 European Championship-winning side last year.

The 2014/15 season also saw the youngster make his professional debut at Goodison Park in a Europa League clash against FC Krasnodar, and Ledson could be in line to make his Football League bow for the U’s in tomorrow’s fixture at the Abbey Stadium against Accrington Stanley.

Pleased to have secured the midfielder, Cambridge United Manager Shaun Derry commented: “I feel we have acquired the services of one of the brightest young talents in English football.

“Ryan is clearly willing to take his career to the next level by joining Cambridge United, where he will have the opportunity to play his first League matches.

“I would like to place on record my huge gratitude to Everton Football Club for making this loan deal possible.”
