Take a sneak peek here:

Despite not featuring in the Fourth Round replay at Old Trafford through injury, Hughes reflects fondly on “that” Friday night at the Abbey Stadium and recollects his memories with the match day programme.

“My first and most prominent memory perhaps isn’t the game, but in fact the draw,” said the U’s midfielder.

“I can remember being sat at home waiting for the draw with my family and when I saw ball number 30 come out for Manchester United, it was so overwhelming.

“The night itself, we approached the game as any normal match which was strange when at the back of your mind you know you will be playing against these world superstars.

He added: “The supporters certainly in my time here have been first class, but that night in particular at the Abbey Stadium typified what the club is about.

“When I walked out of the tunnel, I was taking deep breaths because the occasion was unbelievable. The atmosphere at the Abbey Stadium is always amazing, but on that particular night every player wanted to play in that atmosphere.

“Lining up against the likes of Di Maria, Falcao and Van Persie was surreal and every players wants the chance to test yourself against those players. And then finally to add to that occasion by securing the draw and earning the trip to Old Trafford was amazing.”
