U's confirm one year sponsorship deal with Elms BMW
Cambridge United are delighted to announce that they have joined forces with Elms BMW Cambridge in a one year sponsorship deal that will see Elms BMW Cambridge become the sole sponsor of Cambridge United's new Soccer Schools.
This programme will be launched throughout 2015, with the first courses in February Half Term, and Soccer Schools in 15 venues by October Half Term. Football Development Manager James Cutting, who will be implementing and managing this initiative, spoke positively of the effect that it will have on the local community: "The Soccer Schools are a combination of technical coaching and fun-based games. We plan to rapidly expand this programme as demand for top quality football coaching provision is so high. We will give boys and girls aged 4-14 the opportunity to receive professional football coaching in a relaxed and fun environment. Our Youth Development programme provides 1200 talented young footballers the opportunity to develop their ability and we now want to expand our outreach by offering a similar opportunity to every young footballer, regardless of their gender or level of ability. We expect to be engaging with around 7,500 children per year within this new and exciting programme and this will lead to a number of different outcomes. Children will have the chance to engage with the football club whether their desired outcome is to gain a place in the Youth Development programme or simply have fun playing the beautiful game’’.
Steve Penman of Elms BMW explained their delight at the announcement: “Elms BMW Cambridge are delighted to begin this association with Cambridge United and especially pleased to be supporting their excellent youth development programme developing young talent in our local community. We are sure that this will be a long term relationship that will bring a mutual benefit to both businesses and we are very excited to be a new part of the team!”
Liz Slack, Business Development Manager at Cambridge United added: “As the club continues to grow and develop its youth programmes, partnerships such as this one with Elms BMW Cambridge demonstrate the opportunity that exists for local companies to work with Cambridge United for the benefit of the local community. The support of Elms BMW Cambridge will help us to drive forward this programme, which will encourage children to participate in a healthy activity in the school holidays, as well as learning key messages from our coaches and first team players around respect and fair play as well as key messages relating to nutrition, hydration and diet. This is an exciting collaboration with a highly regarded local company that will have a direct positive influence on thousands of local youngsters.”
