Harrison Dunk determined to continue unbeaten streak in the League
Cambridge United midfielder Harrison Dunk is determined for the U’s to continue their rich vein of form in 2016.
Following Monday’s 2-1 win over Barnet, United take their current unbeaten run of six Sky Bet League Two games into the New Year and Saturday’s clash with AFC Wimbledon at the Abbey Stadium.
Dunk feels that consistency levels must continue to hit high standards throughout the first team, if the U’s are to prolong their hot streak of good performances and winning results.
He said: “We are on a good run now and we obviously want to keep that going for as long as possible by not allowing the consistency to slip. We want to start 2016 in the same form.
“No game is easy in this League and that is shown by how tight all the games we’ve played in have been. The gaffer is instilling into us the importance of being determined every game and maintaining that consistency.
“I think that has been evident in the last three or four weeks.”
Dunk’s assist for Luke Berry’s goal earlier this week moved the 25 year-old onto eight assists for the 2015/16 season, a figure which ranks him top of the pile for the U’s. However, Dunk states that the personal accolades play second fiddle as long as he continues to contribute to the team’s overall performance.
“I have always aimed to boost my assist tally and thankfully so far it has gone well this season.
“As long I can continue to help the team to win then I don’t mind how many I get by the end of the season.”
