MATCH PREVIEW: DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE VS CAMBRIDGE UNITED

Match Preview: Dagenham

Cambridge United travel to the Chigwell Construction Stadium for a Boxing Day clash with Dagenham & Redbridge in Sky Bet League Two this afternoon (K.O. 1pm).

Shaun Derry’s side begin a busy week in which they play three games in seven days as they look to extend their current unbeaten run of four games in the Football League.

Keith Keane remains unavailable due to his long term groin injury, whilst the midfielder is joined on the side lines by Cameron Gayle who picked up a hamstring problem in last week’s clash with Mansfield Town.

Meanwhile, Manager-less Dagenham are sat at the foot of the League Two table and are looking for their first win since last month’s win against AFC Wimbledon.

However, the U’s will need no reminding of the 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Daggers earlier in the season which saw them bow out of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, and will be looking to rectify that result today.

Commenting on the clash, Shaun Derry said: “Myself and Joe [Dunne, Assistant Manager] have watched them a number of times this season and on their day they are a good team. Unfortunately for them their day hasn’t come too often this season, and we need to make sure that continues on Saturday.

“Once again we’ll be looking to take our game to opposition and I’ve always said that if we can play to our full capacity then we will give anyone a run for their money.

“We’ll have one eye on the opposition and we’ll respect them but Saturday has to be about us.”

Over 900 tickets were sold ahead of the Wednesday’s online deadline meaning that the Amber Army are set to travels in their droves. Whilst tickets are still available for those who still wish to attend the clash.
