CRAWLEY 2-0 U'S

United defeated on the road in the Joshnstone's Paint Trophy

TWO second-half goals saw Crawley Town overcome the U's at the checkatrade.com stadium this evening.

The first-half saw Emmett O'Connor twice come close for the hosts, both his shots ending up just wide of Chris Dunn's goal.  Jayden Stockley looked to have been pushed over in the box on 18 minutes, however the referee waved away the U's protests.  Robbie Simpson came closest for United, firing just over Jamie Ashdown's bar from 20 yards.

The hosts started the second-half on the front foot, on 52 minutes Gavin Tomlin hit the bottom of Chris Dunn's post before the hosts took the lead on 56 minutes after a driven shot took a deflection off Richard Tait and found the back of the U's net.

Liam Hughes came close for United, as did Sam Whittall, before the hosts extended their lead.  Substitute Charles Banya fond his way through the U's defence before firing past Chris Dunn.

Ryan Donaldson came close in the dying minutes, his shot was well saved by Jamie Ashdown.
