Curtis Davies, David Meyler and Ian Ashbee support #Mission676!
#MISSION676 is well and truly under way as Jez George aims to complete his sixth marathon in six days today, leaving 20 marathons in 20 days remaining!Yesterday, #Mission676 made a visit to Hull City, where Jez George was met by Premier League stars Curtis Davies and David Meyler, along with former U's captain Ian Ashbee.
Curtis Davies said he was amazed by the task facing George, adding that Hull’s own Tigers Trust had proved a success in the local community. He said: “I think Jez just getting here so far is a great achievement, so to think he’s only just getting started is unbelievable. I’ve always wanted to complete a marathon myself, and I think I probably will look to do it after football, though I’m not sure I’d be able to do 26 back to back!"
“It would be wonderful for the community to be able to benefit from this amazing walk, myself and Tom Huddlestone recently met with a group of youngsters who were on a programme run by our Tigers Trust. It was great to see the fun that they were having, which they may not have been able to enjoy had it not been for the football club’s community arm."
Davies continued: “The social inclusion programmes are vital in building these young peoples’ confidence, and it is something that young people from all communities should be able to experience.”
Jez will now make his way to Manchester City's Ethiad Stadium, via a car journey back to the R Costings Abbey Stadium!
