Luke Chadwick Joins Cambridge United
LUKE Chadwick has joined Cambridge United on loan until the end of the 2013/14 season.The 33-year-old Cambridge-born midfielder has joined the U's from Milton Keynes Dons where he has made over 200 appearances.
Chadwick began his career at Manchester United, graduating from the youth team in 1999 and going on to make over 35 appearances for the Red Devils over four seasons. He then joined West Ham United on a free transfer in 2004, spending a season with the Hammers. A loan move to Stoke City at the start of the 2005-6 season became permanent in January 2006, the Potters paying £100,000 for his services.
In November 2006 Chadwick moved on loan to Norwich City, he then signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the Canaries in January 2007, commanding a £220,000 transfer fee. In October 2008, Chadwick joined MK Dons on an initial three-month loan. After an successful loan spell he signed an two-and-a-half year contract with the Dons in January 2009. Luke went on to win Player of The Season for the Dons in 2009/10 and 2010/11.
U's Director of football, Jez George, said: "It's a completely unique situation, that a player of Luke's experience and quality wants to come to this club for all the right reasons."
