Christmas & New Year Football Sessions

Train with the U's this festive period!

Cambridge United Youth & Community Trust are set to hold some exclusive and very exciting Christmas & New Year football sessions for 6-16 year old boys and girls over the festive period.
 
The sessions include opportunities to be coached by First Team players and also gain a unique insight into their lives as professional footballers.

Chris Maxwell Goalkeeper Course – Monday 23 December – Comberton Village College – 10am – 3pm
Train with First Team goalkeeper coach Martin Davies, working on a range of topics. Cambridge United number one Chris Maxwell will attend in the afternoon and give the participants a unique insight into being a goalkeeper at a professional level.
 
Striker School – Monday 23 December – Comberton Village College – 10am-3pm
Players will work on topics such as close-range finishing, creating space to shoot, shooting with power and combination play. In the afternoon U’s stars such as Tom Elliott and Delano Sam-Yorke will attend and share their experiences with the children.
 
Abbey Match Morning – Monday 23 December – Abbey Pool AstroTurf, Cambridge – 9am – 1pm
An opportunity for children to enjoy playing small-sided games in a relaxed and fun environment. Players will be split into age appropriate groups and play a round robin tournament.
 
Abbey Match Morning & Meet the Players – Monday 23 December – Abbey Pool AstroTurf & Cambridge United Football Club – 9am-5pm
(9am-1pm  Match Morning, lunch & 2-5pm Meet the Players)
After the Match Morning, children can stay until 5pm. They will be walked to the nearby Abbey Stadium where they will meet the CUFC players and have the opportunity to ask them questions.
 
Linton Match Morning – Thursday 2 January – Linton Village College – 9am-1pm
An opportunity for children to enjoy playing small-sided games in a relaxed and fun environment. Players will be split into age appropriate groups and play a round robin tournament.
 
Linton Match Morning & Liam Hughes Skill School – Thursday 2 January – Linton Village College – 9am-1pm
After the Match Morning, children can stay until 5pm for an indoor Skill School with First Team star Liam Hughes! Hughes famously won the ‘Skill School’ competition on Soccer AM and will teach the participants some new tricks and skills, which they can then put into a game.
