U's supporting White Ribbon campaign

Jordan Cousins and Amaru Kaunda supporting the White Ribbon campaign

This weekend’s match against Barnsley is the Club’s dedicated White Ribbon Matchday as we aim to raise awareness about the White Ribbon campaign...

White Ribbon is a global movement of men and boys speaking out about violence against women and girls, and challenging gender stereotypes underpinning such violence.

White Ribbon Day

Cambridge United Foundation has formed a pioneering partnership with Pledge United to deliver the UK’s first programme of its type aimed at tackling discrimination and violence against women and girls. Working in local schools, the project uses football to challenge the culture around gender-based violence and create a safe place for all.

It starts with MEN.

This White Ribbon Day (25th November) we’re asking men to hold themselves accountable to women, and to each other, so we can affect positive behaviour change to transform harmful cultures. Gender equality is key to making this culture change happen. Gender equality is achievable if men and boys understand and assume their responsibility as allies.

What can you do?

  • Visit the Cambridge City Council White Ribbon Stall in the North Habbin Fan Zone at Saturday's match to find out more about the campaign
  • Think about your behaviour and those of your friends and colleagues. Where safe to, challenge unacceptable behaviour and positively influence other men and boys to become allies
  • Become a White Ribbon Ambassador to make a positive difference in your workplace or community

We can all help to prevent violence against women and girls. It starts with me. It starts with men.

If you or someone you know has been affected by domestic abuse, there are support services that can provide free, independent and confidential advice.
