Statement: Crowd Medical Incident

Cledara Abbey Stadium Floodlights

Cambridge United would like to extend its deepest thanks and sincere gratitude to all the staff for their exceptional efforts and professionalism during last night’s medical incident...

We are relieved to inform you that the spectator, who suffered a cardiac arrest, was revived and conscious after receiving medical assistance as they left the ground. Our thoughts and best wishes are with the fan and their family, and we sincerely hope for a full and healthy recovery.

We also want to express our appreciation for the cooperation and compassion shown by many of the surrounding fans during what must have been a very difficult time. We understand how challenging this may have been for those in attendance.

If any fans feel affected by the incident and require support, the Club’s Mental Health support partner, MyNurva - who already provide Season Ticket Holders free access to their service - are extending their offer to all fans who may wish to use their 1:1 video therapy service.

Season Ticket Holders can book direct with MyNurva through their App, or by emailing bookings@mynurva.com. Non-Season Ticket Holders who wish to take up the opportunity can email info@cambridgeunited.com.
