Cambridge United are pleased to announce the signing of Dan Nlundulu on a season-long loan…
The 25-year-old striker joins the U’s on deadline day from Bolton Wanderers.
Nlundulu progressed through the Southampton Academy as a youngster before signing professional terms with the Saints in 2017. He made 12 Premier League appearances during the 2020/21 season, before signing a three-year contract extension in 2021.
Loan spells over the following seasons at Lincoln City, Cheltenham and Bolton Wanderers followed, before he joined Wanderers on permanent terms last summer.
He now signs with United to become the Club’s 12th signing of the window, marking the end of the U’s business this summer.
“I am really happy to be here. It’s a great opportunity for me to do well for myself and to do well for the team,” Nlundulu said.
“I need a manager that is emotionally connected with the player and that’s what I am getting here. We had a great meeting and everything felt right. For me and my people it was a no-brainer.”
Garry Monk added, “Dan is an extremely talented forward who will add a lot to the team this season. I am delighted to welcome him to the Club.
“He is a dynamic player that has all the attributes we have been looking for to add to our striker options. I am really pleased that he is with us and look forward to working him over the course of the year.”
After signing so close to Saturday’s match at Bristol Rovers, Nlundulu will not be travelling to tomorrow’s game at the Memorial Stadium. He will wear the number 9 shirt for the season.
