Play Safe…

English football unites this weekend to promote Play Safe – the national campaign to focus attention of the vital importance of safeguarding across our game.

Cambridge United is right behind Play Safe, which is endorsed by the NSPCC and supported across every level of English football, including the Premier League, EFL, Barclays Women’s Super League, Barclays Women’s Championship, men’s and women’s National Leagues and across the grassroots game.

Our friends at the Offside Trust will be at the game and have a stall near the Junior U's Kids' Zone on Newmarket Road. Formed by a number of abuse survivors following the 2017 child sexual abuse scandal, the Offside Trust is an independent body that is seeking to further enhance safeguarding at all levels of sport.

They will have a number of iconic sports memoribillia items on show, with fans able to get a photo with the items for just £1, which will help raise money for the organisation.

If you have a safeguarding concern, or would like some advice, please contact the Club’s Safeguarding Officer via safeguarding@cambridgeunited.com or 07756 286999.

Tributes...

The Club will be paying tribute to former Vice Chairman, Tony Douglas, with a minute of applause ahead of kick-off. Tony passed away a couple of weeks ago at the age of 94 years old, joining his loving wife, Enid - both of whom loved Cambridge United dearly. Join us as we mark his remarkable life and achievements just before the game gets underway.
