Lewis Simper has signed for Sutton United for undisclosed terms...
The move marks the end of Simper's 16-year association with the Club, having joined the Academy as a 6-year-old.
He was originally spotted at his local Ely Development centre and rose through the ranks amongst his youth team peers, first earning a scholarship and then a professional contract in January 2020.
His debut followed in September 2020, in an EFL Trophy match against Fulham U21s, and his first league start came in April 2022 against Morecambe.
The 2022/23 season was a memorable one for Simper within the First Team, as he made 16 appearances and scored four goals across all competitions.
He now joins Sutton United on a permanent deal and everybody at Cambridge United would like to wish him all the very best and thank him for his outstanding service towards the Club.
