Cambridge United Women's manager, Darren Marjoram has been nominated for the FA Women's National League Manager of the Month for December...
After a successful concluding month of 2024, Darren has been recognised and put forward as one of four nominees for the league's manager of the month award. Marjoram led his side to two victories from two games against stiff competition within the South East First Division.
A gruelling road matchup against Actonians, who at the time were second in the league table, saw the U's claim a dominant 5-1 victory against the London-based side. After conceding an early goal, Wiltshire fired back immediately to level it up, and gave the U's a foothold in the game. Still tied coming out for the second half, the U's leveraged their versatile attack and netted four more before the final whistle.
Eager to build on this victory, the U's returned home to the Premier Plus Stadium, where they faced Norwich City Women - a side who hasn't lost to the U's since March 2022. An early penalty gave the U's the advantage and the momentum, which was not wasted as a second was secured, as Bella Simmons picked up a fumbled ball and back-heeled it past the Norwich stopper.
