Crest Update - June 2024

The Cledara Abbey Stadium

Ahead of the 2023/24 season, Majority Owner Paul Barry announced the Club’s desire to explore a new crest and wider identity...

The Club feels this is important to help increase its supporter base and commercial appeal on a local, national, and international level at a time when sporting and financial competition at our level are ever more intense.

Throughout the course of the last season the Club has been working with design agency North to obtain the thoughts and opinions of supporters and stakeholders which were then used to develop a design that was shared publicly in September 2023. Following feedback, the Club decided not to proceed with that particular design however the majority of supporters and stakeholders did support future change.

Since the Autumn, the Club have spent time analysing the feedback received and have brought crest designer Chris Payne onboard to build upon North’s pro-bono work to date. We are very grateful to North for the work that they have done which has provided a strong platform to move forward from.

It is expected that three designs will be shared publicly at the start of July, in advance of a month of consultation events which will allow supporters and stakeholders to see the designs in real life and provide quantitative and qualitative feedback.

Scheduled events will include:

  • 4 July - Foundation Seniors Lunch
  • 10 July - Foundation Kicks Sessions
  • 11 July – Foundation Kicks Sessions
  • 12 July - Club Board Meeting
  • 17 July – Business Club Event
  • 18 July – Volunteers Training Evening
  • 22 July-31 July – Soccer Camps
  • 23 July – Shadow Board Meeting
  • 25 July – Staff Crest Event
  • 25 July - Fan Consultation Event
  • 30 July – Mead Family South Stand Fans Open Day
  • 2 August – Pre-season Home Game vs West Brom
  • 5 August - Online Survey

Please note, events and dates are subject to change.

Upon conclusion of the events the feedback will be analysed, any appropriate refinements made, and a final design will be selected by the Board and Owners which will be used from the 2025/26 season.

Details of the consultation events will be publicised in advance of July alongside the release of the three proposed designs and brandmarks.

This more inclusive and transparent process takes on board feedback from fans - in particular the Shadow Board. We are grateful for all the feedback over the last year and hope as many fans as possible will be able to give their views on the proposed designs from all different parts of the fanbase.
