Cambridge United are pleased to announce that Amaru Kaunda has signed his first professional contract with the Club...
The 18-year-old striker joined the U's Academy as an Under 15 and after excelling as a Scholar, has now been rewarded with a one-year development contract.
"I am really happy to be continuing my journey here," Kaunda said. "It's what I have been working towards since I was a young boy and it is a really proud moment for me and my family.
"It's now up to me to continue to work hard, try to keep developing and show my worth as a professional."
Academy Manager, Dom Knighton said, "We are pleased to be in a position to offer Amaru his first professional contract with the Club. Amaru had a successful second year of his scholarship, excelling on loan at Biggleswade before joining St Ives Town.
"We feel that Amaru has excellent athletic potential and has consistently demonstrated an ability to score goals up to this point.
"The hard work really does start now however, and it is up to him like all of the other young pro’s to make every day count."
