Mamadou Jobe has been voted the Love Cambridge Player of the Month for April...
After being recalled from his loan at Gateshead at the end of March, Jobe came straight into the team and quickly settled, playing five straight games in the heart of the defence, before suffering an unfortunate injury in the defeat at Bristol Rovers, which ended his season prematurely.
During his time in the side, Jobe impressed supporters and teammates alike with his dynamic and assured performances, which resulted in winning the final Love Cambridge award of the season.
Speaking to Cambridge Independent from Cambridge Standing Tall Giraffe in the Market Square, Jobe said. “It’s massive to win the award. It shows how well they (the fans) think I’ve been doing recently and that I’ve been putting in the hard work with my performances.
"I feel like I belong at the level and I’ve shown that I can play in it, but I’ve got to go on and establish myself with my performances. It’s like the hard work starts now."
Cambridge United would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Player of the Month sponsors, Love Cambridge for their support throughout the 2023/24 season.
