Liz Pamplin has won the 2024 Outstanding Contribution Award at the annual FA WNL awards ceremony...
Liz has been an integral part of the Cambridge United Women's team for 24 years, and since the team officially joined Cambridge United two seasons ago, has taken on many roles within the team including being a member of the Board, Club Secretary and helping out at training sessions and on match days.
The FA WNL recognised her long-term commitment to both the Club and Women's Football, by presenting her with the Outstanding Contribution Award at the 2024 Women's FA Cup Final on Sunday 12th May.
Upon acceptance of her award, Liz said, "If 10 minutes of my time allows someone else to get out of football what I have gotten out of football, then it's worth every single second.
"I love my Club! Cambridge United Women are going places and I am going to be there when it happens!"
In an interview with the FA WNL, CUWFC Director Jenny Horsfield added, "She's a very valued member of the Women's Board, she's our Secretary, but also on a day-to-day basis she's there at training and every match. Her dedication goes as far as washing the First Team's kit!"
"Liz has had a massive impact at Cambridge United, she is dedicated to the Club and has been involved for years - she's the glue that holds us all together."
Also speaking with the FA WNL, Cambridge United Women's Manager, Darren Marjoram said, "People like her are very rare, they're not people we see too regularly, and I hope she knows the value that all of us around her, place on what she does."
"Everybody at our club has nothing but good words to say for Liz. This award is absolutely deserved; there is nobody that I can think of in the years I have been in football that deserves this more."
We are proud to see Liz gain recognition for her efforts both at Cambridge United and in Women's Football nationally.
