Cambridge United Head Coach Neil Harris was delighted with his players for persevering in the 2-1 win against Fleetwood Town...
Although he admitted that the team weren't at their best for much of the game, he was pleased to see the response from the team after Fleetwood equalised with just over 10 minutes to go, as United pushed for, and got, the winner deep into added time through Kaikai's well-struck finish.
On getting the win...
"I am not going to be excited about watching it back. It wasn't the greatest advert for the quality of League One. I thought we got sucked into being a little too direct at times and not showing enough composure in the first half so at half-time I thought it was probably quite even.
"We had plenty of quality in the last 20-25 minutes of the game though and I can't praise them enough.
"As much as it was ugly, today was about character and personality and when it went to 1-1 we didn't go under, we responded. Ultimately we could have scored two or three more goals after going back level.
"We found a way to win and that's the most important thing."
On Taylor and Njoku's impact...
"He [Taylor] had about as good a debut as you can get in football. He was excellent when he came on, he showed leadership qualities and linked the play well. Brandon Njoku was key as well, just adding a little bit of impetus at the top end of the pitch and gave us a bit of a spark.
"What has never been in question with Lyle is his work ethic and his ability to score a goal. Let's hope that's the start of many more for Lyle."
