Following the news that Harrison Dunk will leave the Club after 13 seasons, he has penned the following letter to supporters...
Hi everyone,
As my departure has now been confirmed I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at Cambridge United from the bottom of my heart.
What an amazing 13 years it has been. I signed as a young naive 20-year-old and I couldn’t have dreamt that I would go on to play 464 games and achieve 2 promotions during that time for this great Club. It’s been an honour playing for Cambridge and there are so many incredible people that I want to thank for making my time here so memorable.
A special mention must go to the owners and the directors who have transformed this Club to a point that it is now unrecognisable from when I first signed. The Club would not be where it is now without you all, so thank you.
I also want to thank all the members of staff, the coaches and all my current and ex-teammates that I have played or worked alongside during my time here. Thank you for helping me to develop not only as a player, but also as a person. We have shared some amazing memories and experiences that I will never forget - thank you for making my dreams become a reality.
Finally, a last thank you must go to you - the fans. It’s been a rollercoaster, but you’ve always stuck by me and the Club. You made Cambridge feel like a home and for that I’ll be forever grateful.
I will never forget celebrating at Wembley with you, winning at St James’ Park, the promotions, my testimonial, the survival on the final day of last season and of course beating Peterborough to start the great escape.
It’s all been a dream and thank you for being a massive part of that. Cambridge will always be in my heart and I hope to see the Club continue to progress in the future. Hopefully see you all again at the Abbey soon.
Harrison x
