Cambridge United is delighted to announce another record-breaking sponsorship for the Women’s team with ecommerce technology and marketing business; Genie Ventures...
The sponsorship will see the Cambridge based firm’s logo on the back of the Women's shirts for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.
The company, which was founded in 2008, employs 60 people across three successful brands; Broadband Genie (consumer broadband comparison website), Genie Goals (ecommerce marketing agency for retailers) and Genie Shopping (advertising service for retailers).
The sponsorship is another positive sign of the continued growth of the Women’s team following a record-breaking front-of-shirt sponsorship signed at the start of the season.
Neil Rowe, Head of Commercial said, "We are delighted to welcome Genie Ventures to the Football Club as an official commercial partner and back of shirt sponsor of the Women’s team. From the first conversation we had with the team, it was clear that community and promotion of Women’s football was hugely important to them, with one of the directors a current coach for grassroots U15 side Cherry Hinton Lionesses.
"The investment and support they have shown will make a huge difference to the overall growth of Cambridge United Women, which the club is fully committed to growing”.
Ciaron Dunne, Exec Chair of Genie Ventures added, "We are so happy to be supporting Cambridge United Women. We have very strong beliefs and aspirations around promoting diversity and inclusion, and this seems like an incredible opportunity to align those beliefs with our support for the U's!
"The rise of women's football - and women's sport in general - is symbolic of so much positive change in our society, and also shows us there's much more for us all to do.
"We have been very impressed and encouraged by the leadership philosophy at the Club - it really feels like an exciting environment at the moment, on and off the pitch. It's a genuine community Club, which we are extremely lucky to have in the city.
"Here's to an exciting season, we are very happy to be along for the ride!"
