Cambridge United Foundation introduced a special award this year to recognise an outstanding contribution from an individual that has given so much time to both the Football Club and Foundation...
Graham Daniels first featured at the Club as a player in 1983, playing alongside the likes of David Moyes, Andy Sinton and Alan Comfort, and has since remained a huge influence at the Club in various roles throughout the years.
In 2010, Graham was fundamental in the set up of the Club’s charity (Cambridge United Community Trust, now Foundation), of which he is still chair, employing 14 members of staff which positively impacts over 10,000 Cambridge residents each year.
Graham also joined the Club board in 2013 supporting the rebuild of the Club through a challenging time and more recently has been pivotal in the migration of the Women’s team to align with the Football Club in 2022.
Graham’s passion for the football club and his community is alongside his role as General Director at Christians in Sport, an international charity supporting elite level athletes.
A true inspiration to friends, colleagues and the wider community of Cambridge, the foundations Graham has paved will live long into the future of this Football Club, and this award is a small acknowledgement of his commitment over the years.
Thank you to Dr. Graham Daniels - the winner of Cambridge United Foundation's Outstanding Contribution Award 2023.
