After a tremendous April which saw the U's pick up four wins and a draw from seven games, Sam Smith and Mark Bonner has both been nominated for League One end-of-month awards...
Smith scored in each of United's first six games in April, inspiring the team's survivial hopes with crucial goals, including a last-minute equaliser at Bolton and at home to local rivals, Peterborough United.
He faces tough competition in the form of Ipswich's Conor Chaplain, Derby County's David McGoldrick and Morecambe's Cole Stockton.
With the team staring at what appeared to many as an imminent relegation at the beginning of the month, Mark Bonner has helped turn the tide to guide the U's to their best form and points return of any month this season.
It's his fourth Manager of the Month nomination since taking over as United boss in March 2020, two of those occasions resulting in the Award itself.
He is up against Oxford United's Liam Manning, Ipswich Town's Kieran McKenna and Plymouth Argyle's Steven Schumacher
