Ben Worman and Lewis Simper surprised a group of Cambridge United supporting Phoenix Trust service users with a visit to their work site in Milton...
The visit was organised on behalf of Club sponsors, Hill, who have worked closely with Phoenix Trust for a number of years, donating materials from site which the charity has used in their workshop to build items, such as bird tables and boxes, benches, planters and herb ladders, which they in turn sell to raise vital funds.
Ben and Lewis presented the group with a signed shirt and match tickets, much to the delight of the team at Phoenix! They stayed for a chat, photos and even pitched in to help with the work.
Phoenix is a social enterprise and charity based in Milton near Cambridge. It offers experience of the world of work to young people and adults with a range of learning disabilities and special, additional or complex needs.
As part of Hill's commitment to supporting charities and working with local communities, a number of the Hill team spent the day volunteering at Phoenix Trust, helping them with jobs around their site, including levelling and relaying a previously patioed area to make it accessible for a new co-worker who is a wheelchair user.
