Join us at the Abbey Stadium this Saturday as we celebrate the Club's 2000th league game and 1000th home league game...
This weekend's (Saturday 19 August) home game against Bristol Rovers is a historic one, as the Club reaches two milestones since the U's 1970 election into the Football League.
Although the Club has encountered plenty of challenges over the past 50+ years, its United spirit and determination to overcome them has been the prevailing theme throughout and Saturday's game is the perfect opportunity to celebrate everybody that has played their part.
To mark the milestone, we are inviting supporters to wear their favourite retro shirt to the game as we aim to get the Abbey at its most vibrant and effervescent best.
U's legends Rodney Slack, Roly Horrey, Lindsay Smith, Peter Phillips and Malcolm Webster will all be in attendance as guests of the Club and supporters will be able to hear from before the game and at half-time out on the pitch.
Local Brass band, Waterbeach Brass will welcome the teams out ahead of kick-off with a special performance out on the pitch, and we are also delighted to welcome four generations of the U's supporting Nightingale family to the game, who will be presenting the Match Ball to the referee ahead of kick-off.
Finally, at half-time, CUFC Lottery are marking the occasion by announcing a whopping six £500 lucky winners (£3,000 total) as extra ‘Must Win’ prizes. Click here to join the Lottery in time for Saturday's big giveaway.
Tickets for the game are already in high demand, so book yours in advance and join us in our celebrations of all things Cambridge United.
