Kai Yearn has joined Chelmsford City on a youth loan for the remainder of the 2022/23 season...
The 17-year-old signed his first professional contract in the summer following a landmark personal season in which he became the Club's youngest ever goalscorer and helped the U18s make a record-equalling FA Youth Cup run to the Fifth Round.
He now joins up with the Clarets under former United player, Robbie Simpson.
Head Coach Mark Bonner said, "Kai has had a stop start period since pre-season with injuries but has found some rhythm in training in the past fortnight and built some good game time in the youth team.
"We are now looking forward to seeing him challenged in senior football and securing a place in Chelmsford's team. If he can do that, it will be a good experience for him after some encouraging signs since the start of pre-season with us."
Kai joins the squad ahead of tonight's National League South match between Chelmsford and Oxford City.
