Ian Darler B.E.M is inviting all U's supporters to join him for a 3 mile stroll on Sunday 30th October as he reaches the final stretch of his World Cup Walk for Shout 85258...
The U's Stadium Manager is raising money for Shout 85258 - the Club's Mental Health partner - by walking the equivalent distance from London to Qatar ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
So far he has walked 5,715,688 steps - less than 300,000 from his target goal of 6 million. Read more about his journey by clicking here.
Over £14,500 has been raised to date, with just £5,500 to go to reach his fundraising target of £20,000.
Fans who would like to join him this Sunday should meet in the Main Stand car park at 9:30am for a 10am start. The walk is around Ditton Meadows and along the River Cam, before returning back to the Abbey Stadium.
A second public walk is planned from Parkers Piece to the ground ahead of the November 19th match against Accrington Stanley.
Those who wish to take part should meet by the football monument opposite Parkside Swimming Pool at 1:45pm for a 2pm departure, with arrival at the Abbey Stadium estimated for 2:40pm.
It is hoped that by this date Ian will be approaching 6 million steps - his target distance.
